Project Brief

DI Labs had a large client in the food processing industry with an urgent need for face shields for front line workers as a customized addition to their existing PPE (personalized protection equipment.) They required an immediate solution and off-the-shelf face shields weren’t working.

In just a few days, our DI Labs team designed a custom face shield for the unique working conditions of the food processing industry. Our design was lightweight, easy to assemble, and provided ample room for airflow to be comfortable and eliminate fogging.

Within days from meeting with the client, we were in full production of face shields tailored to their ergonomic and safety requirements. We developed a prototype, iterated the design and produced thousands of shields on a timeline that would have been impossible without additive manufacturing.
