WILLMAR, MN, October 27, 2021: Last week, DI Labs hosted a facility tour for a group that included U.S. Senator Tina Smith. It was organized by Sarah Swedburg, Business Development Manager for the Kandiyohi County and City of Willmar Economic Development Commission. Senator Smith was in Willmar to attend a roundtable discussion about broadband expansion in Kandiyohi County.
Access to broadband is an important issue for attracting and retaining tech businesses and employees to this area. DI Labs is an industry leader in the use of industrial additive manufacturing and finishing technologies and relies heavily on access to services like broadband.
“We are proud to be growing our high-tech business in Willmar and enjoyed telling our story and answering some really great questions from Tina and her team.” comments Carl Douglass, co-founder of DI Labs.
Sarah Swedburg added, “The EDC’s mission is to be a catalyst for economic growth of the great Kandiyohi County area. Touring DI Labs with Senator Smith was a great opportunity to continue highlighting leaders in innovation and entrepreneurial spirit that come from Kandiyohi County. The EDC is proud to continue to support businesses like DI Labs that have chosen to call our region home.”
DI Labs is owned by brothers Carl, Brian and Sean Douglass. Each of them relocated to this area from various parts of the county to join forces and grow the business. They have created a unique company culture founded on the principle “there’s always a solution,” which has allowed them to defy the odds and build one of the fastest-growing technology companies in the Midwest.
